Chennai is a major centre of Carnatic music and is the most significant city in the world with respect to this genre. In 2017, Chennai deservedly became the 3rd Indian city to be included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), in the music category.
Each year, December and January is the time for Chennai Music Season, where the genre performed is mostly Carnatic music. This event is considered as one of the world's largest cultural events.
This blog contains 30 photos from the 2017-18 music season in Chennai. I have allotted 10 photos each for vocalists, instrumentalists and Bharatanatyam dancers.
